12.07 (Saturday)Britt Lower is an actor, writer, director, and artist, best known for her role as ‘Helly’ in Ben Stiller’s Apple TV+ series SEVERANCE, alongside Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken. For her performance in Season 1, she received a 2022 Gotham Award nomination for “Outstanding Performance in a New Series,” a 2023 SAG Award nomination for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series,” and won the 2022 Hollywood Critics Association Television Award for “Best Actress in a Streaming Series, Drama.”
At the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, Britt starred in Naomi Jaye’s DARKEST MIRIAM (produced by Charlie Kaufman) and Tolga Karaçelik’s THE SHALLOW TALE alongside Steve Buscemi and John Magaro, which won the Audience Award. These films will be released theatrically in early 2025.
Among her numerous other features, Britt co-starred in HOLLY SLEPT OVER, SISTERS, MR. ROOSEVELT, and REVENGE FOR JOLLY! with Oscar Isaac. On television, Lower starred in Simon Rich’s MAN SEEKING WOMAN opposite Jay Baruchel and Eric Andre, had recurring roles in CASUAL, UNFORGETTABLE and FUTURE MAN, and made notable guest appearances on HBO’s HIGH MAINTENANCE alongside Ben Sinclair.
Britt made her directorial debut at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival with CIRCUS PERSON, a short film she wrote, produced, and starred in. It won the “Best of Festival” award at the Catalyst Story Institute and the Audience Award at Nashville Film Festival. The film follows a painter who joins the circus after her fiancé leaves her for another woman, blending live action and animated body paint to explore themes of healing through radical love—drawing inspiration from her own experiences in the circus.
Britt studied art and theater at Northwestern University and honed her improvisational skills at Improv Olympic and UCB. When not filming, she performs as a ringmaster in one-ring human circuses and is in the process of developing CIRCUS PERSON into a feature film.
