12.07 (Saturday)Madeleine Madden is a rising star with a fast-growing list of impressive credits to her name. She initially came to the attention of her home country in 2010 by being the first Australian teenager to deliver an Address to the Nation on behalf of the Generation One campaign’s call for action to create a better future for indigenous people, and her eloquent speech was watched by more than six million people on national TV. Madden stars as “Egwene Al’Vere” in two series of the hit Prime Video fantasy The Wheel of Time and is soon to be seen in season three. She voiced the protagonist of the Ark animated series, based on the video game franchise, where she joined fellow cast Elliot Page, Gerard Butler, Michelle Yeoh, Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel and David Tennant. She also reprised her Ark character in Ark: Genes which is the latest edition of this gaming franchise. Madden’s first feature film was Sarah Spillane’s Around the Block, where she starred opposite Christina Ricci, and she was also seen on the big screen in Paramount’s Dora and the Lost City of Gold. She has appeared in numerous Australian productions, including ABC TV’s critically acclaimed series The Code, the first two seasons of Redfern Now, Jack Irish: Dead Point, The Moodys, My Place, Ready For This, Tomorrow When the War Began, and Doctor Doctor. She also co-starred in the Amazon mini-series Picnic at Hanging Rock alongside Natalie Dormer, in the Screentime/Netflix series Pine Gap, and the critically-acclaimed Mystery Road, a television series based on the highly celebrated film and the Netflix fantasy/drama series Tidelands, alongside Elsa Pataky. Madden made her stage debut in Sydney Theatre Company’s production of The Secret River directed by Neil Armfield.
