Over the years, he won over the public, critics and awards around the world with memorable works such as: “O Auto da Compadecida”, “Meu Nome Não é Johnny”, “Lavoura Arcaica”, “Lisbela e o Prisioneiro”, “O Drain Smell.” On TV, he shone in unforgettable roles: “Dangerous Liaisons”, “The Invisible Woman”, “Os Maias”, “Os Aspones”, and “Caramuru – The Invention of Brazil”.
He made three films as a filmmaker, with emphasis on the extraordinary “The Clown”, a huge box office success, awarded at more than 50 National and International Festivals, and was also Brazil's representative film for the 2013 Oscar for Best Foreign Film. The Movie of My Life”, Selton combined the roles of actor, director and screenwriter. The film is based on the work of Chilean Antonio Skármeta, author of “The Postman and the Poet”, starring French star Vincent Cassel, premiered at the Rome Festival and continued traveling around the world receiving recognition from festivals and critics wherever he went. . Selton's debut in the horror genre, in the film “Bury Your Dead”, written and directed by Marco Dutra, is scheduled for 2024. Alongside Fernanda Montenegro and Fernanda Torres, Selton stars in “I'm Still Here”, Walter's new film Salles, nominated for an Oscar for “Central do Brasil”.
Selton announced the return to his most memorable character; the adorable Chicó in “O Auto da Compadecida 2”. The film will show the reunion with his friend João Grilo, 25 years later. A great tribute to master Ariano Suassuna, under the command of the brilliant Guel Arraes.
