Laerte

Laerte is the author of comics and cartoons. Born in São Paulo, in 1951 - she took some free courses in painting, drawing and theater; she entered USP, in Communications, to study Music and then Journalism – she didn't graduate. She was one of the creators of the magazine Balão (comics) and the company Oboré (communication advisory for trade unions). She published her work in O Pasquim, in O Bicho, in Estado de São Paulo, in Folha de São Paulo, in several magazines. She was the author of the magazine Piratas do Tietê-also the name of the daily strip she produces. She participated in the writing of TV programs for Rede Globo: “TV Pirata”, “TV Colosso”, “Sai de Baixo”. She presented the program “Transando com Laerte”, on Canal Brasil. She participated in the short film “Vestido de Laerte”, by Claudia Priscila and Pedro Marques; and the feature “Laerte-se”, by Lygia Barbosa and Eliane Brum.
