Hiro Kawahara

Hiro was almost a biologist, but decided to become an illustrator, and then an art director. He created and illustrated McDonald’s tray towels for a long time. 10 years ago he also became a drawing teacher, creating a drawing course called Mushin, difficult to describe, but which became a reference among illustrators. Also 10 years ago he decided to become a comic book author. He has already produced 7 books, including “Parzifal”, which won the Unesco PUC Chair award for best youth literature in 2017. Since 2023 he has been publishing his comics through Editora JBC. He has taught I Ching at acupuncture schools, was a skeleton assembler at college, was lost for 8 hours in a cave in Vale do Ribeira and had a near-death experience in 2016. He also illustrates children's books.
