J.M. DeMatteis

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Eisner Award winner J. M. DeMatteis was a professional musician and rock music journalist, before launching a long career writing novels, television, film and, of course, comic books

DeMatteis has written a variety of memorable projects, from the epic drama of Spider-Man: Kraven’s Last Hunt to the comedy-adventure of Justice League International; the autobiographical Brooklyn Dreams to the surreal space-fantasy of Moonshadow. His television and film work has included episodes of The Twilight Zone, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold and the animated movies Batman vs. Robin, Superman: Red Son, and Constantine: City of Demons.

Recent projects include "Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Lost Hunt" and "Spider-Man: Shadow of the Green Goblin", "The Excavator" and "The Witness". And the Spellbound Comics/DeMultiverse, titles Layla in the Lands of After, Wisdom, Godsend, and Anyman."
