Shintaro Kago is a Japanese guro manga artist whose style is described in the West as “Fashionable Paranoia.” Known for breaking the fourth wall and radically experimenting with page layouts, he is regarded as one of the most virtuoso comic artists in the world. His work often carries strong satirical overtones, influenced by Monty Python, parodying Japanese and Russian politics, and exploring grotesque themes. He won the Gran Guinigi Award at Lucca Comics & Games in 2014 and created concept art for the Netflix film In the Tall Grass (2019). The artist’s presence at CCXP26 is a partnership with Tábula Editora.
