Cosimo Santoro

Born in 1973, Cosimo Santoro is an Italian distributor, former festival programmer, and film critic. Over the years, he has served on numerous juries (such as the Berlinale Teddy Awards, Sofia Meetings, REC in Tarragona, and Márgenes in Madrid, among others), as well as giving masterclasses and participating in panels at various events, including BAM in Bogotá, Olhar de Cinema in Curitiba, Brasil CineMundi in Belo Horizonte, and ABC Bafici in Buenos Aires. In 2012, he founded the international sales agency The Open Reel, focused on the promotion, distribution, and marketing of feature films, short films, and documentaries of all genres. Over the years, he has discovered diverse talents, including Frenchman Damien Manivel, Spaniards Jaione Camborda and Diana Toucedo, Brazilians Daniel Nolasco and Rafaela Camelo, and Italian Simone Bozzelli. He is a member of the European Film Academy and served on the expert committee for the Awards.
